There Are 6,414 Shopify Stores in Lebanon. Only 34 Are on Plus.
Every article about Shopify in Lebanon names the same twenty famous brands and cites nothing. Here is the actual shape of the market, with the numbers and where they come from, including the one that says most Lebanese stores are leaving money on the table.

Search for Shopify in Lebanon and you get lists. Elie Saab, Lacoste, Swarovski, Decathlon. The same twenty names, one sentence each, no sources, no totals, and no way to tell which of them are Lebanese businesses and which are the local arm of a French or Austrian company that would be on Shopify anyway.
None of that tells you what you actually want to know, which is whether this platform is used here, by whom, and at what scale. So here is the market in numbers, every one of them sourced, with the method and its limits stated at the bottom so you can check the lot.
The headline figure
Lebanon has 6,414 live Shopify stores. That is Store Leads' count as of 30 October 2026, up 3.6 percent on the previous quarter and 35 percent year on year.
The growth curve is the striking part. Store Leads counted 346 active Lebanese stores in the third quarter of 2023 and 6,194 three years later, roughly eighteen times. Most of it landed in a rush: 346 in 2023 Q3, then 933 by the end of that year, then 2,565 by the middle of 2024.
Hold that loosely. Store Leads approximates store creation dates from DNS and WHOIS records rather than measuring them, so the early part of that curve is an estimate and the apparent cliff in late 2023 may be partly an artefact of how old domains get dated.
The number that tells you what kind of market this is
34 of those 6,414 stores are on Shopify Plus. About half a percent.
And 6,341 of them, 98.9 percent, have no employee count recorded at all, which in this dataset usually means too small to have a published headcount anywhere.
So Lebanon's Shopify market is not a handful of fashion houses. It is several thousand small merchants on standard plans, and the famous names in every listicle are statistically irrelevant to it. If you are being sold a Plus migration here, that is the context nobody mentions.
What they sell, and from where
Two thirds of the market sits in three categories: 2,043 apparel stores, 1,293 in beauty and fitness, and 887 in home and garden. That is 4,223 of 6,414, just under 66 percent. Food and drink is fourth at 345, then health at 289.
Beirut holds 2,945 stores, about 46 percent. Then Tripoli at 159, Sidon 124, Byblos 95, Jounieh 83. A further 1,321 record no city, so the real spread outside Beirut is probably wider than the table suggests rather than narrower.
One small thing worth noticing: only 40 stores use a .com.lb domain, out of 6,414. Almost everybody is on .com. Whatever the local domain is for, it is not Lebanese e-commerce.
The gap
Here is the number we find most interesting, and the reason this article exists rather than another list of brands.
4,123 Lebanese Shopify stores list Instagram. 305 list WhatsApp. Sixty four percent against under five.
In a market where a large share of orders are agreed in a chat and paid in cash at the door, ninety five percent of stores are not putting the channel the sale actually happens on anywhere a customer can find it. TikTok, at 1,411 stores, is on four and a half times more storefronts than WhatsApp.
The app data says the same thing from the other side. Judge.me, a reviews app, is the most installed at 1,577. Klaviyo, for email, is at 679. Dondy, which does WhatsApp marketing, is at 640, and a chatbot builder at 619. So roughly one store in ten has wired up WhatsApp properly, while two thirds are collecting reviews.
Half of these stores publish an email address and 42 percent a phone number. For a buyer who wants to ask whether something is in stock before paying cash for it, neither is the channel they will use.
We have written separately on what cash on delivery does to your real numbers and on which payment routes actually work here. This is the same problem one step earlier: the conversation that prevents a refused parcel has to be possible before it can happen.
Delivery is almost entirely invisible
Across all 6,414 stores, Store Leads detects an international carrier on 93 of them: UPS on 63, FedEx on 14, Aramex on 8, DHL on 8. That is 1.5 percent.
That is not evidence that nobody ships. It is evidence that almost all Lebanese Shopify delivery runs through local couriers and arrangements that a crawler cannot see, which is exactly what you would expect in a cash on delivery market, and exactly the part that no platform report can measure for you.
So what do you do with this
If you are opening a store here, you are joining about six and a half thousand others, two thirds of them selling clothes, cosmetics or homeware. Differentiation is not going to come from the platform. Nobody has an advantage from Shopify itself; everyone has the same one.
If you already have one, the WhatsApp number is the cheapest unclaimed advantage in the dataset. Nineteen out of twenty of your competitors have not done it, and we have worked out what the gap costs per refused parcel.
And if someone is quoting you for a Plus build, ask them how many of Lebanon's 34 Plus stores they have worked on.
Questions people are asking
How many Shopify stores are there in Lebanon?
6,414 live Shopify stores as of 30 October 2026, according to Store Leads, which tracks Shopify installations by crawling the web. That was up 3.6 percent on the previous quarter and 35 percent year on year. Store Leads does not publish its definition of a live store, so treat the figure as the number of detectable Shopify installations rather than the number of trading businesses.
How many Lebanese stores are on Shopify Plus?
34, which is about half a percent of the total. Lebanon's Shopify market is almost entirely small merchants on standard plans. If someone is selling you a Plus migration in Lebanon, that is the context you are missing.
What do Lebanese Shopify stores sell?
Two thirds sell apparel, beauty and fitness, or home and garden: 2,043 apparel stores, 1,293 beauty and fitness, and 887 home and garden out of 6,414. Food and drink is a distant fourth at 345.
Where are Lebanon's Shopify stores based?
Beirut accounts for 2,945, about 46 percent. Tripoli has 159, Sidon 124, Byblos 95 and Jounieh 83. A further 1,321 record no city at all, so the real distribution outside Beirut is likely to be wider than the data shows.
Is Shopify growing in Lebanon?
Sharply. Store Leads counted 346 active Lebanese Shopify stores in the third quarter of 2023 and 6,194 in the third quarter of 2026, roughly eighteen times in three years. Most of that arrived between late 2023 and mid 2024. Note that store creation dates are approximated from DNS and WHOIS records rather than measured, so the shape of the early curve is an estimate.
Method, and what it cannot tell you
Every figure above comes from Store Leads' public Lebanon report, read on 3 November 2026 and dated 30 October 2026 by the publisher. We opened the page rather than relying on a summary of it. The percentages are our own arithmetic on their counts, and you can redo any of them.
What this data cannot tell you. Store Leads detects Shopify installations by crawling, so a "live" store is a detectable storefront, not a trading business: some share of the 6,414 will be dormant, abandoned or never launched, and the publisher does not define the term. Store creation dates are approximated from DNS and WHOIS, so the growth curve's early years are estimates. There is no revenue data for Lebanon in this dataset, so any claim about what these stores earn would need a different source, and we have not made one. Social and app figures count what is detectable on the storefront, so a store using WhatsApp through a link in its Instagram bio rather than on its site would not be counted.
